This post is directed at Mr Gibbard really, I wish there was a picture to go with the post. Last Sunday my brother inlaw and I went fishing in the Pittwater, leaving from Palm Beach. I spent the next 3 1/2 hrs catching small whiting and bream, nothing worth taking a photo of. I felt at one point all I was really doing was feeding the fish. My last sweaty and smelly prawn was baited up and thrown over the side, before we had to take the boat back. Now Adds this is where things became slightly interesting, pretty quickly I realised that my line was going tight. As we had snagged the bottom a few times already, I picked the rod up with the intention of winding until my trace snapped and call it a day. Suddenly the bottom or what I thought was the bottom started tugging at the line, for the next 1/2 hr I battled fuck knows what, but mate it was strong. This thing towed the boat up and down, round and round and I just couldn't move it off the bottom. I really have no idea what it was, but I can only think it may have been a flathead (like a monk) or a ray. Anyway it made a number of huge runs stripping most of my line, then just when I thought I might be able to do something with it the fucker snapped my 15 lb trace. Anyway I know where the fucker lives and I will be going back to find him.
A couple of shots here for Mr Gibbard! Watch out mate, I think my photography is improving massively, especially my actions shots. Anyway, as you can see most Aussie males don't really know how to impress the ladies. I think this beautiful young lady might be available Adds, she has her own place and just look at those puppies!
Gemma and I went down to the Newport Arms today for some lunch and took this picture outside the beer garden. Which incidentally is massive and was heaving with people. A really cool place to go and get pissed. It backs onto a massive estuary called the pittwater full of mental boats. A really beautiful place.
OK, so Gemma and I put our tourist hats onto today and went up to Palm Beach to check out the setting for Home & Away. Well I didn't see Alf (he's the only one I know) so we just settled for sitting on a really beautiful beach. Quite a lot of tourists there, lots of Brits and Herman's. Not that I know a lot about it but the surf looked pretty good and there was definitely a bit of an undertow in the water when I went in. The waters pretty warm and really nice for swimming in, although the shark thing is generally nagging away at me. We caught the bus up as we haven't got ourselves a car yet, simply because they are so expensive and I am struggling with handing over money for a piece of crap. Anyway we checked out the Pittwater waterway today and it looks pretty amazing loads of little marinas and hundreds of yachts and cruisers.
